How Tea can Help You Lose Weight

Tea contains an assortment of chemicals which have positive effects on the human body. Among these chemicals, one is the subject of further scientific scrutiny – a group of chemicals called polyphenols. These are the chemicals responsible for the therapeutic and medicinal effects of tea – and ultimately the weight-loss benefits one can get from it. The following sums up the weight-loss benefits one can get from tea:

  • Fat burner. The polyphenols in tea improve the function of enzymes in the body. When the enzymes responsible for dissolving fat are activated, fatty acids (triglycerides) are then melted. As fast is burned through this process we observe an improvement in weight loss.
  • Increase metabolic rate. Tea increases the metabolic rate by which our body converts the food we eat into energy and which in turn is burned off as calories. Tea has the property to increase metabolic rate which means the increase in metabolism burns off more calories which subsequently increases weight loss.
